The run to Nebraska
Sunday, May 7th, 2006The transition from the Chicago area to near Omaha Nebraska was thankfully uneventfull. Buzz did the entire six hour run while Joel worked on the computer website in the passanger seat. A lot of the driving was between 95 and 100 with a spurts to 120. With two gas stops, the average overall speed worked out to 77 mph. We were the lead car the whole way with no other Cannonballer catching us or passing us. After a few hours sleep we begin the worst phase of this years event. Up all day tomorrow, Sunday, at the track…run for 17 hours tommorrow night to Louisana doing the equivilent of a Philadelphia to Daytona bike week run…up all day Monday at the track…run all night to Georgia, the equivilent of Philly to Chicago…then up the next day at the track. From there on its a cake walk.
